1990's power pop band The Posies will play an all-ages concert at Pipeline Cafe on Dec. 16, it was announced today. Doors open at 7 p.m. and Sleep Waves will serve as the night's opening act.

Based on the partnership between Jonathan Auer and Ken Stringfellow, the band released its major label debut, "Dear 23," in 1990, followed by "Frosting on the Beater" three years later.

The Posies are attempting a comeback in 2010, releasing a new album, "Blood/Candy," in September. "Licenses to Hide" is the first track to be released as a single.

Tickets for the concert are $20 general admission and $40 in advance, and are available at the Pipeline Box Office, Hawaii's Natural High, all Local Motion stores on Oahu, online at www.groovetickets.com and www.pipelinecafehawaii.com, or order-by-phone at (877) 71-GROOV.
