March 6th, 2014

Lisa Loeb is a successful recording artist, actress, author and entrepreneur, but most people will always remember her for “Stay (I Missed You)” off the soundtrack for 1994’s “Reality Bites.”

Hawaii fans will have the opportunity to celebrate the song’s 20th anniversary and hear Loeb perform tracks off her 2013 album, “No Fairy Tale,” when she headlines a one-night-only performance at the Honolulu Museum of Art’s Doris Duke Theatre on July 10.

Loeb was a pretty frequent visitor about a decade ago, playing shows at Kaimuki High School in 2003, the Hawaiian Hut in 2005 and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater in 2005 and 2008. Her Hawaii concert debut was at The Groove in 1996.

“I’m trying to make (Hawaii) a regular thing,” said Loeb in 2005. "There are so many great musicians. It's fun to go (to Maui) and play ... it's a whole different world."

She has been pretty busy in recent years, however, putting out “Purple Tape” in 2008 before shifting gears and releasing a children’s album, “Camp Lisa,” in 2008 and the books “Lisa Loeb’s Silly Sing-Along” and “Movin and Shakin” in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Loeb also sells her own line of eyeglasses, as well as her own line of organic coffee.

Tickets for the July 10 concert are on sale now at the Honolulu Museum of Art. General admission tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance are $45 ($40 for museum members). Call (808) 532-8700 for more information or visit the HMA website to purchase tickets online.
