Buffett Fest features all-star lineup

November 7th, 2014

When the news broke in August that Hawaii Regional Cuisine pioneer, Chef Peter Merriman, would take over operations at Jimmy Buffett’s Restaurant & Bar at the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber, I wrote it was a good sign for local musicians.

Like the former owners, Merriman and his business partner, Bill Terry, are big supporters of live entertainment in their restaurants. That support will be underscored this weekend by Buffett Fest, featuring performances by Shar Carillo (2 p.m.), Mana’o Company with Micah G (4 p.m.), Kapena (6 p.m.) and Fiji (8 p.m.).

“We are excited to celebrate the re-opening of Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber Resort through music,” Terry said on Tuesday. “Music is such an important aspect of the Jimmy Buffett brand and Handcrafted Restaurants. We couldn't think of a better way to share our new food and beverage menus with Oahu than with a killer concert!”

Along with the music, Buffett’s at the Beachcomber will offer happy hour specials from 2 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday. Draft beers will start at $4, along with $3 Landshark Lager, $5 well liquor and house wine, and $8 specialty cocktails.

Admission to Buffett Fest is free; the Beachcomber is located at 2300 Kalakaua Ave. Call (808) 791-1200.
