Local breweries share the spotlight at two tap takeovers
Do you think Kamehameha the Great would have enjoyed the variety of quality craft beer created in Hawaii these days?
Today, the day before the official state holiday named after the legendary Hawaiian alii, the Hawaiian Craft Brewers Guild will hoist more than a few pints in his honor starting at 6 p.m. during an all-local brewery tap takeover.
The event is a fundraiser for the HCBG, with no cover charge and all 16-ounce pours sold for $9 each. Participating breweries and the beers they plan to serve include:

» Maui Brewing Company (Mosaic Mo’Betta IPA)
» Mehana/ Hawaii Nui (Southern Cross)
» Stewbum and Stonewall (Batch 518 Pale Ale)
» Waikiki Brewing (Black Strap Molasses Porter)

Also coming up at Real a Gastropub is Brewed in Hawaii, a craft beer event featuring eight local breweries. Doors open at 2 p.m. June 21, featuring beers from BeerLab Hawaii, Big Island Brewhaus, Honolulu Beerworks, Kona Brewing Co., Lanikai Brewing Co., Maui Brewing Co., Stewbum & Stonewall Brewing Co. and Waikiki Brewing Co.
